* MY ASHLEY FAMILY*

Updated December 1, 2002

The Ashley family is of English origin. Thomas Ashley came to New England early. One reference states he came as a servant and another states he came and worked as a fisherman. After the War some of the family went to Canada. Other members moved to Ohio and were some of the first settlers of Huron County, Ohio. Finally after the Civil war they moved to California.

We have a fair dose of Scot in us. The Armstrong's, Davidson's and Gordon's are all from Scotland. The Gordon's and Tompkins came through Conn to New York. The Armstrong's and Davidson's came from Ontario.

The melting pot came together in Marysville, California.
