He married ELIZABETH CHAPMAN Abt. 1839 in Marion County, Georgia. She was born 29 Sep 1818 in Pike County, Georgia, and died 30 Mar 1888 in Dubberly Louisiana.

"John Boyet, who was born in the Old North State. At an early day the latter removed to Georgia with his father, John B. Boyet, Sr., and became a prominent citizen of Marion County, serving as high sheriff of that county for a number of years. His father was a soldier in the War of 1812. John Boyet...grew to manhood in Stewart County, and when a young man went to Marion County, where he married Miss Eliza Chapman, a native of Pike County, Ga. After farming in that State for a number of years he removed to Louisiana in 1859, and located on the farm on which he now resides in Webster Parish, and on this farm his wife passed from life in 1888."

Although Martha's tombstone reads "Born November 13 1850" I feel that this date is an error. When one reviews U.S. census records from 1850 and1870 her age recorded on both documents reflect that she was actually born in 1843.

Wesley D. Boyett enlisted in the Confederate States Army on 07 July 1861 at Capt. Moore, Louisiana. He was a Private in Company C, 9th Louisiana Infantry. He was listed as present to August 1861. Wesley died 12 September 1861 at Camp Bienville. He was twenty one years of age, single, a farmer, and lived at Buck Horn, Bienville Parish, Louisiana when he enlisted.

I have used the birth information recorded on Mary's (Mollie's) tombstone. Her age listed on the Bienville Parish1870 U.S. Census indicates that she was born in 1853. I do not feel that one census document warrants listing her birth date different from that recorded on her tombstone.
