"John Boyet, who was born in the Old North State. At an early day the latter removed to Georgia with his father, John B. Boyet, Sr., and became a prominent citizen of Marion County, serving as high sheriff of that county for a number of years. His father was a soldier in the War of 1812. John Boyet...grew to manhood in Stewart County, and when a young man went to Marion County, where he married Miss Eliza Chapman, a native of Pike County, Ga. After farming in that State for a number of years he removed to Louisiana in 1859, and located on the farm on which he now resides in Webster Parish, and on this farm his wife passed from life in 1888."
