The George Harris Family of Tampa, Florida USA:Information about Gottlieb Happold
Gottlieb Happold (d. date unknown)
Notes for Gottlieb Happold:
My mother, Ethel Ahearn (Happold) Harris, told me many times that she believed her grandfather Happold, was named Gottlieb (unsure of spelling) and that he came to the United States from Germany. She never met him which leads me to believe that he died before she was born.
My grandfather Theodore Happold was said to have spent some time in an orphanage in Bucks County.I find him on the Pennsylvania MicroCensus, living in Bucks County with a Henry Haas.I find a Henry Haas living at the Children's Home of Lancaster, May 1866, along with two others with the name Haas, John Haas and Samuel Haas. All three were ordered transferred there on May 7, 1866.
Gottlieb married a Mrs. Brown, she had a son named Joseph E. Brown.
Gottlieb and Mrs. unknown Brown had two sons, Albert Happold, mother says he was older than her dad, and Theodore Happold, My mother's father.Notes of Christine Harris Boyette (my early research and oral history from my mother Ethel Ahern Happold Harris
