The George Harris Family of Tampa, Florida USA

I started this project several years ago in order to try and track both of my parents families.

My Harris family had always been a great mystery. My grandparents divorced when my dad was very young and he was raised by his mother and step father. We had tried to obtain his birth certificate but were informed by the state of Georgia that the record no longer existed. I finally received a copy of my grand father Harris' death cert and obit. I also now posess their original marriage certificate. Like a lot of others I have been unable to go further back then his grandfather Thompson Harris. I have just received the first results from my dad's DNA test. I hope the testing will help to reveal relations to Thompson Harris' ancestors. My fathers line includes Harris, Stewart, Scott, West, Causey and related lines.

My maternal side is even more elusive. My mother's paternal grand father (HAPPOLD)came from Germany and so did her paternal grand mother. They came at different times and appearantly married in Pennsylvania. Mother's line includes Allens, Aherns, Cummins and related lines.

I just want to connect with others researching these lines.
