I am just beginning this page and am new to internet geneology. I have extensive data available on many family names thanks to the years of research that my "Aunt" DANA (BOYD) MEHLER has done. The task of entering a room full of data is overwhelming, but I will update this page as often as possible. I have included some interesting information in this page. My ancestors are of ARCHIBALD BOYD (son of JAMES). Background: My first ancestor to come to America is a JAMES BOYD (son of ROBERT BOYD ?),(born in Scotland). He reportedly came America with three brothers (??? names) and married ANN IRWIN(?)

**The following are exerpts from "MEMOIRS OF ALEXANDER H. BOYD" (Marion Ind) 1892 / by MARY (BOYD) DEMPSEY Sept. 11 1975;
"My father (ADAM BOYD) in company with his brothers ARCHIE and JOHN and two brother-in-laws named HILL, came to Indiana." (about 1814-1818, is in 1820 census) "The two older brothers, ARCHIE and JOHN and the two HILL brothers went on to Crawford Co., Illinois."
The memoirs go on to discribe the adventures of ADAM BOYD. He traded with the indians. He lived in Richmond, Ind. when there were only a few cabins there. He was a wagonwright, worked on a keel boat on the ohio, was a friend of William Henry Harrison, when Harrison was in charge at Ft. Washinton (later Cincinnati).
"ADAM BOYD and family left Richmond in 1833 and moved to Boone Co., Indiana and started a farm north-west of Thorntown."
ARCHIBALD, JOHN and the HILL's settled near "EAST BERLIN" (later known as Porterville, now called Eaton) in Crawford Co., Ill. (about 1822-1824).
