* James Boyle from Belfast to Belleville, Ontario, Canada*

Updated November 16, 2008

James Boyle b. 1812 in Belfast, County Antrim, Ireland emigrated c1840 to Canada and is found on the 1852 census for Finch Township, Stormont County, Ontario, married (April 1844) to Eliza Corbett, b.1826 in County Down, Ireland. They had a total of 12 children, 3 born in Finch before moving west to Hastings County, Ontario. James worked as a sawyer in several areas of Hastings county before settling in Belleville.
In religion a Presbyterian and Conservative in politics.
All children remained in Belleville area, with the exception of Mary Anne Boyle who married James Magarrell in Belleville who moved to Bruce County in Ontario, Illinois before settling in Iowa in 1867.
Little is know of James Boyle, who his parents are and if any siblings. The boys were named George, Gordon, Charles, Robert and William and as was the Irish custom of using existing names for the children, I would assume that these names would have been of his father or brothers.
