I'm a beginner in the area of researhing my family's history. I just became interested because of my sister Dolores Anne (Boyle) Jessen of Yakima, WA. She provided me with the following and other information on our family genealogy. Since I have access to the Net and she doesn't at this time, my initial interest is to try and make contact with relatives regarding the Boyle and Robertson surnames who may be in our family tree and surf the Net. Of course, if there are any other distant relatives out there, please let me know.
I begin the tracing of our Boyle name with the marriage of James Boyle and Helen Finnigan in Cambuslang, Scotland on June 7, 1889. As far as we know, James Boyle was born between 1855 and 1857 in Ireland and died on February 10, 1912 in Dechmont Colliery, Cambuslang, Lanark, Scotland. His father's name was Hugh Boyle who we think was born around 1831 in Co. Monaghan, Ireland. Helen (Finnigan) Boyle was born on July 26, 1868 in Shettleston, Lanark, Scotland and died on December 22, 1928 in Wilmerding, Allegheny, PA, USA. James and Helen raised nine children including Helen (Nellie) who was adopted, Mary Ann, James, Margaret, Catherine, Hugh James, John, John Grant (my father), and Edward. John and Edward died in Scotland early in life. The rest of the family immigrated to the USA in 1920, initially settling in PA and CO. My father, John Grant Boyle married my mother Margaret Elizabeth Robertson on July 3, 1935 in Detroit, MI, USA. Maragret Elizabeth (Robertson) Boyle was born on July 3, 1908 in Wilmerding, Allegheny, PA, USA. She was one of eight children including Flora, Eva, Joe, Esther, Ruth, Myrtle, and Clarabelle. Margaret's mother and father were Joseph T. Robertson and Clara Mckeag from PA, USA.

If any relatives are out there, please contact me.
