| I have always wanted to search for my ancestors, and this looks like a good start! I have so many stories I want to share about my family, but I should just stick to the basics! My father, James Boyd, and my mother, Donna Ross, met at Towles Silver in Newburyport, MA back in the 70's. My dad now works at and owns Jim's Tattoo Studio in Seabrook, NH. My mom is a homemaker. They have four kids- I'm the oldest, at 20 yrs. I'll be 21 on April 24. I currently work at a Barnes & Noble in Newington, NH. My father's parents were Armond Sherwood Boyd and Margaret Joan Simon. Those two met in Kensington, NH. My grandmother, or Nana as I called her, would come up from Queens, NY every summer to Kensington to stay at her father's farm (which is still standing despite all the new housing developments going up in town!). My Nana's father, I believe, had come over from Switzerland in 1904 (we have a picture of him at Ellis Island). As for my mom's parents, I'm uncertain how and where they met. I have a relative who had done some research on the Simon family tree- she had traced it back to the 1800's. I know that the following nationalites are in my family- Scotland, Ireland, France, Switzerland (my great-grandfather on my dad's side was Swiss-German) and some German. If anyone would like to perhaps offer any information or would like to get more information, please email me! :) I have all these neat stories about my family- my dad's father was thought to be an inspiration for the character Lil Abner. I am pretty good at responding to email, and I enjoy getting emails. I can use all the information I can get, and again, I'm willing to share info with anyone. |
