Hello, My grand children want to know their heritage. Having recently become the "oldest living generation" has made me keenly aware if I don't do what I can to help my own in this quest it could well be lost to them. While I shall collect statistics; my focus is to let them know who these people were and what they were like, events in their lives. Example: Grandpa Benjamin Sheat was drafted into the Civil war while plowing his field. He was allowed to put the team in the barn and kiss Grandma Barbara Ann goodbye. While Grandpa was at war the South came and gave Grandma one trip out of their cabin with whatever she could carry before they burned it to the ground....... Current surnames Gamble ~ Bruner ~ Sheat ~ Hahn ~ Savage ~ Dyche ~ Perkins. I will share what I have and greatfully accept any information you may be willing to share. Leola |
