Abraham Crow (b. 1747, d. October 08, 1844)
Notes for Abraham Crow:The following information was given to me by Winofred "Rodgers" White.
Abraham Crow was one of three brothers who came to America from Ireland about the time of the American Revolution.This first generation was of the Quaker faith, and talked the Quaker dialect.One of Abraham's brothers was killed in a well, the other was killed in the Battle of Brandywine, September 11, 1777.Abraham Crow was one of the early settlers of Pennsylvania, where he married Rachel Craven, who was from Holland, Berks Co, Pennsylvania.In 1787 they crossed the Alleghenie Mountains and settled at the crossroads in Washington Co, Pennsylvania.He lived to be about 97 years old becoming blind several years before his death, and he had to walk with crutches because of an injury caused by running the point of a sickle into his ankle.He was born in 1747 and died October 8, 1844.His wife was born in 1754 and died in 1831.They had thirteen children, the names of some of them were: Jesse, Thomas, William, Abraham, James, John, Annie, Martha, Rachel, and Jane.
