Hannah M. Crow (b. March 07, 1850, d. date unknown)
Notes for Hannah M. Crow:
I'm not sure of the year of her birth.Hannah had 7 children.
The following is from a torn yellowed newspaper clipping from 1916 -
" She was born in Kosciusko Co, Indiana. When she was two years old her parents moved to Putnam Co, Ohio, where they lived until she was 5 years old.In 1855, they moved to Fayette Co, Iowa.On October 7, 1865, she was married to W. F. Gray.In 1880 they came to Audubon Co, and purchased the farm in Cameron Township where she died July 7, 1916, age 66 years and four months.Seven children were born to Hannah and her husband, two of which preceded Hannah to the other world. The two sons, Alonzo and Arthur live in the Dakotas, and the three daughters, Mrs McMichael, Mrs Forest Farn (?) and Mrs E. Baldwin live on _____, near Gray. All except on son were at her bedside during her illness and at her death. She united herself with the church early in life and was always an exemplary christian, giving abundant evidence during her sickness that all was well. She leaves to mourn a husband, five children, three brothers, Abram T. Crow of Fayette, Iowa, John A. Crow of Carrolton, Iowa, and Milton D. Crow who lives on a farm near _______?; and three sisters, Phoebe Lancelot of Exira, Iowa_______ Mrs Alta Jackson of Seattle, Washington, and Mrs Elizabeth Rodgers of Corning, California, all of which were present except the two distant sisters. The funeral was held at the house with the Rev. A. B. Mitchell in charge, and she was laid to rest in the Cameron Center Cemetary. The daily life of Mrs Gray was a beautiful example of a truly Christian wife and mother, and her influence will live on in future generations.Though she is dead yet shall she live for her family and friends will ever remember her as a living example of loving service.More than 50 automobiles laden with neighbors and friends followed her to her last resting place.
"Oh, what is death?til a fleeting thing
A simple blessed change
Tis rending a chain that the soul may gain.
A higher and broader range.
Unbounded space is its dwelling place,
Where no human foot hath trod
But everywhere doth it feel the care
And changeless love of God."
