The Dyer Family

There is a monument in a small family cemetery in the field just back from the Gipson H. Hanna house in East Sullivan, where the Dyer family are laid to rest. The following names are engraved on the four sides of the monument.

Ephraim Dyer, a Solider in the Revolution, died July 6, 1833, age 75.
Hannah, his wife, died April 10, 1840, age 77.
Josua Dyer, died January 1, 1865; age 82, a son of Ephraim and Hanna Dyer.
Sally Amer, his wife, also, their infant, 5 days, died in 1808.
Betsy, his second wife, died February 23, 1861, age 41.

"Old" Cemetery located on east side of Main street in Cherryfield midway bewteen the two bridges. All bushes cut and stones righted and repaired in 1979.

The old cemetery on Main St in Cherryfield is just past Cherryfield Academy on right up a dirt road behind some evergreen trees. There are 4 gravestones for the Allen's in the center of the cemetery: Amos Allen died May 18, 1859 (stone was broken but now repaired). To his right is Catherine S. wife of Amos Allen died Aug 26, 1886 AE 89 years 7 months. To her right is Eben F son of A & C Allen, drowned Jun 5 , 1844 AE 18 years 8 months. To his right is Asaph Stone son of Amos and Catherine S Allen died Sep 25, 1826 AE 3 years and 3 months
