He married Alice Luella Allen on December 26, 1885 in Milbridge, ME²⁶¹², daughter of George M. Allen and Mary S. Strout.

His funeral was held at home of Melville J. Allen. He died at the home of Helen Louise Strout Sperry (60 Boutelle Road, Bangor Maine). He lived there the last two years of his live. He died of CH. Instertitial Nephritis. Carpenter at Cherryfield
