John Sawyer (b. Abt. 1676, d. February 23, 1760)

John Sawyer (son of James Sawyer and Sarah Bray) was born Abt. 1676 in Ipswich, Essex, MA²³⁵¹, and died February 23, 1760 in Cape Elizabeth, Cumberland, ME^{2352, 2353}. He married Rebecca Stanford on February 20, 1700/01 in Gloucester, Essex, MA²³⁵⁴, daughter of Robert Stanford and Mary Williamson.

Notes for John Sawyer:
John Sawyer is said to have lived at Gloucester and Cape Ann, Mass before
moving to Falmouth, Me in 1719. He settled in that portion that became Cape
Elizabeth. He was granted a ferry license on 1719. He was one of the
proprietors of the 1st Church of Falmouth.
He is buried on Meeting House Hill, South Portland Me
