James was born September 17, 1918 in Dorsey, Itawamba County, Mississippi. He married Mildred Mozelle Spann. James and Mildred had two daughters, Geraldine, and Clarine Little. James passed away January 12, 1985 in Flint, Smith County, Texas. James is buried in Enon cemetery, Upshur County, Texas with his wife and daughter Clarine; his dad, Roy and his great aunt, Zuella.
