Zuella was born in Dorsey, Itawamba County, Mississippi. Zuella never married and moved to Upshur County, Texas with her brother and his children in 1938. Zuella was known by everyone as "Aunt Coote". Zuella passed away October 09, 1965, in Gilmer, Upshur County, Texas. She is buried in Enon Cemetery, Upshur County, Texas with her brother.
