Adus was born October 08, 1890 in Hartford, Alabama to Bryant Cicero and Amellia Jane Armstrong Spann. He married Mary Annie Campbell.
Adus and Mary Annie had one daughter, Mildred Mozelle; two sons, Ramah Lee and TC Spann. Adus passed away June 07, 1960 in Winnsboro, Wood County, Texas. He is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Bettie, Texas with his wife. There is no marker, but there is a concerte wall around the graves. Adus put up the wall after Mary Annie died.
