Last Will of William F Tovrea I, Wm. F. Toverea of Henry county, Iowa being of sound mind and memory but of weak body knowing the uncertainty of life and certainty of death, do hereby make possible and declare this my last will and testament, viz: 1st I desire in case of my death that I receive a good and decent Christian burial and that all my funeral expenses and just debts be paid. 2nd I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Amanda M. Toverea all of my property both personal and real, of every nature and wherever situation to hold during her natural life and to enjoy the proceeds there of for as is necessary for her comfortable and proper support during her life, and at her death all of said property-and miscellaneous of same to be divided as here in after directed. This provision not to interfere with any leases now on any of my lands, but such leases to continue and be in force, my said wife to receive the proceeds of such leases. 3rd I desire that none of my land be sold until after the death of my said wife except the 160 acres which I own in Nebraska. It being all I own in Nebraska. That tract, I desire my executrix to sell as soon as practicable, the proceeds to be invested and to be used and enjoyed the same as any other property during her life. It being the intent that my wife shall have the income of all of my property, so far as is necessary for her comfortable &proper support during her life, and what may not be necessary for her support shall go to increase the property to go to the children at her death. 4th I give and devise to my son Frank G. Toverea subject to the life estate of his mother, the South 1//2 of the South West 1/4 Sec 4 Township 72 Range 6 Henry Co Iowa, being my old homestead 80 acres. And subject to the life estate of my wife I give all my remaining property-real or personal to my children to be divided among them as follows-I have made the following advancements to my children, Melissa Rogers $300, Mary E Hunt $150, Wm T Toverea $250, Martha a McKee $500, & Charles T Tovera $250. Now I desire these advancements to be taken into consideration and subject to the amount required to equalize them and I desire that all the personal property remaining at death of my wife shall be equally divided among my six children Mellissa Rogers, Mary E Hunt, Wm T Tovera Martha A McKee, Chas T Tovera & Frank G Tovera-and the real estate, including the 160 acres in Nebraska which I desire sold, I devise to the five children first above name viz Mellisa, Mary E, William T Martha A & Chas T. except the 80 acres herein before devised to Frank G. to be equally divided amount these, subject to the equalization necessary on account of advancements, unless the advancements are equalized out of the personal property.
