| I am researching the Bramwells of Whitehaven Cumberland England who originated in Alston Cumberland when John Bramwell born in 1797 moved to Whitehaven in the early 19th Century. In addition there are Isle of Man connections and his two daughters by his first marriage to Sarah Stephenson both married in the Isle of Man, to two Horsley brothers. My connection is through his second wife Jane Hewitson who died in 1849. I am looking for information on the Alston connection before 1797. In addition I am researching my Scottish side mainly the Baxters of Armadale, Polmont, Southrigg and Harthill and the Traquairs or McGuires of Westcraigs. |
