Find Family
The Williams (and associated names of Morris, Dunne and Longmore) were from South Shropshire, particularly Culmington; the Mattocks and Kings were from North Somerset, particularly the Portbury area; the Rogers (and associated names of Richman, Boyden, Martin and Munns) were from Middlesex and Kent (though the Mattocks also include some Rogers in Somerset) and the Cookes are from Warwickshire. (Got that?!)

A note on the name Mattock. All of this family are known by that spelling in recent times. Occasionally, before about 1840, the spelling was Mattocks and very occasionly other variants were used eg Maddock(s) and Maddox. However with a few exceptions these spelling variations seem to have been given by others rather than the person themselves.

The data displayed in the names and individual listings is current to May 2003. I have more data on a lot of branches now.

There is a lot of very sketchy information about some people because I have often relied on my own memory, especially for those recently dead, please dont be too annoyed, just send me contributions and changes.

If any family member knows the date of death of James Williams born in 1836 could they please e-mail me. He was buried at Richards Castle.

Navigating this site. The InterneTree defaults to the first person in the file. You will have to navigate around it to find the people you are wanting. I suggest you use the search button and click on an individual. The other way of viewing the data is to click on one of the surnames in the surname list or one of the individuals in that list.

The same thing happens with the Gedcom tree. You will not see all the people in that file on one screen. Please follow the instructions provided. If you try to use the F key as instructed make sure you have clicked in the tree "box" first.

Family Tree Maker, the software I use, and Genealogy.com organise the trees like this and I have not yet found out how to display them in a more easily understood way.
