| I am researching the history of my family.The surnames included in my search are;ALEXANDER,WISDOM,ROBERTS,HUGHES,McCAIN,PROCTOR,McLERRAN,HOOKS,and BROWN The area is mainly Iowa and Missouri.The counties in Missouri are Hickory and Benton. I know that the Alexander's were amoung the first settlers of Benton County Missouri.My GGG Grandfather,John Alexander, was the first Judge of Benton County Missouri. The Wisdom family were also amoung the first settlers in Benton County Missouri. There was even a town named Wisdom Mo until the Corp of Engineers bought it out.What used to be Wisdom Mo is now under Truman Resevoir.
