  • Letters from Kentucky to my grandmother and mother (67 KB)
This first file contains letters from the earily 1940's. These letters were all sent to my grandmother, Minnie May Durham Gillespie Crider. Her cousins were very good with descriptions, and have given me so much insite into the life of my family, and how they dealt with the everyday issues. The genealogy in these letters is priceless. In almost every letter, there are explanations as to how individuals are related, and many dates of death, birth, etc. Also, the little family stories are wonderful to read. It made the names and dates in my genealogy real people with joys and sadness. I am so thankful that my grandmother, and mother saved these letters all these years so that I can share them with descendants of these lines. I hope you enjoy them half as much as I have.
  • My Gillespie File (48 KB)
While trying to trace my ancestors, I received a lot of information on various Gillespie lines that did not connect with mine, but I felt would be valuable to someone, so I saved it. This file is all of this extra information I've been sent. If you can use it, please feel free to do so.
