| This branch of the Brendel family,(Carl Martin Brendel), came to the USA on Aug 26, 1892 at the age of 16 on the SS Werkendam. His home was in Thierfeld, Zwickau, in Saxony Germany (just west of Dresden.). Four Brothers arrived at different times. Louis supposedly returned to Germany and no other info has been found. Fred supposedly settled in New Jersey, but no further information has been found Gottlieb settled in Muscatine, IA and much of this branch has been traced. Martin arrived in New Jersey, then migrated to Pennsylvania, Muscatine,IA, and then finally settled in Detroit,MI. Most of this branch has also been plotted. He married in the USA to Pauline Schultz who came to the USA on Oct 6, 1903 at the age of 17. Her home was in Moeckmuehl, in northern Bavaria Germany (Just north of Stuttgart) On the Straight side... Jacob Straight lived in W VA in the 1700's and was killed by Indians His roots are unknown. Subsequent generations have lived in Chicago, and Detroit. Names being researched include...
