We are researching the Maryland Brengle and Pennsylvania Kazmierski Families and the Germany/Illinois/Maryland Fangmeyer and Schlarman(n) Families. Our family includes the surnames Kazmierski, Chemchick, Duda, Coffey, Holmes, Fangmeyer (Famgmeier), Schlarmann, Netemeyer, Timmerman, Gissey, Albers, Weigert, Usselman, Huelsmann and Dustin. We are primarily from Maryland, Pennsylvania and Illinois.
The Schlarmanns (originally from Bersenbruck, Hannover, Kingdom of Prussia, Germany) and the Fangmeyers (originally from Lengerich, Kingdom of Hannover, Germany) and Duda/Kazmierski (Ukraine) are four of the more difficult branches to trace. Once we reached the ancestor who immigrated to the U.S., the trail grew cold. We will continue our research, though, and hopefully will be able to add some Germanic and Ukranian ancestors to this list.
The Kazmierski branch is being compiled at this time and we hope to be able to trace when the immigrating ancestor arrived. Many thanks to Fran, Sue and JoAnne for their assistance in compiling the Kazmierski roots.
The Coffey branch is mostly constructed now. Thanks go out to my aunt, Jan, for her efforts in locating my grandfather's family tree. I have added many, many new Coffeys at this time and will continue to add them in the time I have after caring for our three children.
Some names we are beginning with are:
Catherine Marie Holmes(1/15/1916), m. William Edgar Brengle. Catherine Marie Potter(8/15/1895), m. Edward Holmes. William Curtis Brengle (b.1876), m. Naomi Violet (unknown maiden). Bernard J. Schlarman (b.1843?), m. Philomenia Keyser (Kaiser). Jean Gerhard Duderick Schlarmann (b.1811), m. Catherina Elizabeth Usselmann 1/24/1837. August C. Fangmeyer (b.1/6/1871), m. Mary Weigert. Richard Coffey (b.1799?), m. Margaret McGinley. Martin Chemchick (?), m. Frances Duda. Joseph Kazmierski (?), m. Stella (unknown maiden).
This page is still under construction. We will continue to update it as more information is obtained. We have currently compiled over 2,000 ancestors/decendents (since January, 1999).
Any assistance which could be provided in finding information about the above surnames would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to visit with us. Please note that we have a couple of family reports attached to our page, Schlarmann, Fangmeyer and Coffey. More will be forthcoming as we add to our family tree.
