Isabella Brewer’s Last Will & Testament

I, Isabella G. Brewer do hereby make, publish, and declare this as my last will and testament, hereby revoking and annuling all former wills by me made.
In the first place, I desire all my debts to be paid by my executors hereinafter appointed.
I give devise and bequeath whatsoever property I may have left after the payment of my debts, both real and personal, money, judgments, bonds, notes and chosen in action of every description to my son Reuben H. Brewer and my friend Franklin C. Pinkston. To Have and to Hold the same upon the following uses and trusts to apply to the proceeds and profits of the said estate hereby devised and bequeathed, and the interest on the money and notes and chosen in action to the sole and separate use of Mary J.M. Brewer and the children of the said Mary J.M. and her husband the said Reuben H. now living or that may hereafter be born not subject to the debts of the said Reuben H. during the full lives of the said Reuben H. and Mary J.M. Brewer and if the said Reuben H. should die leaving the said Mary J.M. surviving, then to the said Franklin C. Pinkston in trust to apply the said profits and interest to the use of said Mary J.M. and the children of herself and her said husband during her life, and at her death to the said children then living to be equally divided between them discharged of all trusts and if the said Mary J.M. should die leaving her said husband surviving, then in trust for the use of the children of the said Reuben H. whether by others or his said wife or any other he may afterwards marry during the life of the said Reuben H. and at his death to his children last aforesaid surviving him to be equally divided between them discharged of all trusts and the said trustees are hereby authorized and empowered and in the case of the death of either, the survivor is authorized and empowered to apply the profits and interest of aforesaid to the use and maintenance of the said Mary J.M. and to said children and to the education of the children as they as the survivor shall from time to time determine at their discretion, and with the surplus of such proceeds profits and interests may purchase property to be held in the same trusts and uses, and may likewise if it is deemed expedient sell and convey any portion of the estate hereby devised and bequeathed, and shall hold the proceeds of such sale on the same uses and trusts as herein before declared.
And I hereby nominate and appoint my said son Reuben H. Brewer and my friend Franklin C. Pinkston Executors of this my last will and testament and I desire that my executors shall not be required to give any bond to execute this will but that they may be qualified without making any such bond.
In witness whereof I the said Isabella G. Brewer have hereto set my hand and seal this the sixth day of July one thousand eight hundred and forty nine.
