This photograph of Mary's mother, Antonia Frances Mancuso (1899-1970), was taken in about 1917. Born on July 16, 1899, in Ascension Parish Louisiana to immigrant parents, Ignatius Mancuso (1855-1933) and Angelina Scianna (1863-1932), she was best known to family and friends as 'Lena'. On January 23, 1924, she wed John Scalisi (1888-1936). Antonia died on June 11, 1970, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and is buried there in the Graceland-Orange Grove Cemetery.
