Pictured on the right is Amos Allison Culpepper (1847-1923), g-grandfather of Loris Jr. The photograph was taken at the Bethel Baptist Church in McMahan, Caldwell County, Texas, and is believed to have been taken in October 1898, concurrent with Amos' ordination as Minister of the Gospel in the Primitive Baptist church. In 1903, Amos was elected Elder of this same church. The gentleman to Amos' right has been identified as Elder J.A. Moore.
