Built to replace an 1887 structure, this building was designed and erected in 1920 and was the third building to house the Methodist Church in Lytton Springs, Texas. Designer and builder of this structure was Henry Albert Brewer (1878-1925), son of Dr. John Campbell Brewer (1847-1920) and Margaret Louisa Cardwell (1856-1942). The longest-standing member of this Church is Alma Jeannette Brewer Strawn, eldest child and only daughter of Henry Albert Brewer.
