Bastrop County, Texas circa 1937. Ida Tommy Culberson Culpepper (1878-1939) is the maternal grandmother of Loris. Born in/near the town of Loyd in Rapides Parish, Louisiana, she was shortly thereafter taken by her parents to Caldwell County, Texas. On November 9, 1895, she married William Henry Culpepper (1875-1944) and they became the parents of 6 boys and 6 girls.
