Generation No. 1


1. Moses2 BREES (Unknown1) was born 1744 in New Jersey, and died 1847 in Delaware Co. Indiana. He married (1) Anna. He married (2) Fanny HERMAN March 16, 1840 in Del. Co., IN.

Notes for Moses BREES:
First found in Morris Co. NJ in 1793 (NE in state), then to Westmoreland Co. PA 1794-1804(west of Pittsburg) then to Butler Co. OH 1807-1840 (n of Cincinatti) then Delaware Co. In. Also listed as Moses Breese.

Bought and sold land in the Muncie, Indiana area. He owned a lumber mill and then sold it. Court records show that he and two of his sons, Israel and Calvin and a son-in-law Daniel Bowser(Phoebe) were arrested for ason for burning down the lumber mill.

Moses is assumed to be buried in the Parker Moore cemetery in Muncie along with son Calvin. There is no headstone, but the deed to the cemetery has Moses name on it. Also in Parker Moore is Moses's second wife Fanny. Alfer Moses death, Fanny had to rebuy back all of her belonging from Moses estate. Fanny remarried to Edmond Aldridge and had a daughter Caroline. Edmond and Fanny went to court to get Moses estate for Caroline. Caroline married at 16, had one child (William) who lived for a few months. Caroline died shortly after William. They are both buried in Parker Moore.
