Reverend Johannes "Hannes" (John) Gehman, b. 12 Feb 1741, married Anna Stauffer, b. abt. 1738. Johannes Gehman lived initially on his father's farm near Seisholtzville. He worked as a farmer and wheelwright. Apparently, he was ordained as a preacher at the Upper Milford Mennonite Church subsequent to 1773. Upper Milford was one of the Franconia Conference congregations involved in the 1847 split which produced the General Conference Mennonites. Records indicate that in 1785, Johannes Gehman owned 150 acres in Upper Hanover Twp., Montgomery County, PA. He died on 23 Dec 1806; his wife died 20 Feb 1817. They are buried in the Upper Milford Mennonite Cemetery, Zionsville, Lehigh County, PA. They had the following children:
