We are researching mainly the Briles/Birt family right now.
The Holtzhouser family is pretty much complete. We would like
some help on the Moring/Gidcomb families though.
My greatgrandfather William H. Birt born around 1860 was found
in the 1900 census in Mason Co Ky and then again in the 1910
census in Logan Co W.Va. He was married to Nancy Jane Ball
and had children: John Edward b. 1885, Nellie b. 1887, Harrison
b. 1894, Westley Thomas b. 1897, Darkas b. 1898, and Lizzie b. 1905 and Carrie b. 1907.
I do not know William's parents or Nancy Jane's parents.
In the census you will find the spelling Birt, Burt, or Bert.
On the Briles side I can find little information about my grandfather Algia Bert Briles b. 1880 in N.C. and his wife
Carrie Robinson b. 1884 in N.C. If anyone knows anything about
Carrie or has a picture I would love to see what she looked like.
We are really just getting started on our family tree and could
use any help you could give us. We would be glad to help you
in any way by sharing information.
