Since my grandfather was an orphan, partially raised by his grandfather, there has always been some speculation about our line of the Brittain family. The first goal of my research has been to find ancestors of my grandfather's grandfather. Then, in 1989, I married a second-generation American, who can pinpoint where her grandparents came from in Europe. This spurred me to research the main lines of my family back across the Atlantic. This second task has proved extremely challenging. My plan in coming years is to travel across the US researching my family. I would love to collaborate and even meet other of the same lineage. |
