I am 75 years and have been researching both Maternal(Wickham)and Paternal (Brickley)families for some years.So far I have discovered many American and Australian connections,setting up regular communications with some. BRICKLEY. originated in Kinsale Co cork,Ireland: my Gt Gt Grandfather was William,b1801 died 1880 in Brighton.His son William,Gt grandfather, born Ireland 1846,married Eleanor McCarthy in Brighton,died in Brighton England abt1910. WICKHAM.Can be directly traced to the 15th Century.JOHN,married Joan Bonjean March 31 1616 etc.Most were born and raised in SUSSEX. England.This Tree has now reached 14 Generations,with my own grandchildren. Difficulties have occurred in tracing the IRISH connection because many Parish records were destroyed in the 1840's,however there are many,but not too many, namesakes particularly in the US and Ireland itself .Input welcomed....Derek Brickley

Jasper Wickham c.1890 (61 KB) Jasper was born in Nutley in 1828. He fathered several Children among whom was my Grandfather Charley.b 1872 The Author: Derek Brickley (51 KB) Picture Taken in Spain. Jan 2000. In one of my favourite positions. Wickham Grandparents,and offspring (19 KB) Charlie Wickham,Wife Maude,son Jasper.Daughters Nellie and Elsie.(Mother) Paternal Grandparents. BRICKLEY (43 KB) William and Eleanor (McCarthy) pictured abt.1910 Both were born in Ireland abt 1845 and died in Brighton Sussex. Rose Brickley. Grandmother (1940s) (40 KB) Rose married Patrick Brickley (No Pictures) in 1904 Her Family name was LAISHLEY from Wandsworth London Brickley Children c.1918 (74 KB) The Three Brickley Brothers. John (Left) Patrick and William,(Centre) watchedover by sister Rose.
