Find Family

Welcome. Hopefully you are here to bring me more information about my family. Maybe I can help you with information about yours. Either way this is a great way to accelerate the entire genealogy process and I think it's great. Thanks to FTM for making this so easy.
Now that the commercial is over lets get down to business. My main focus at this point in time (6/98) continues to be the city of Shelby, Orleans County New York where Giles and Rebecca (Wilson) Briggs lived in 1850. By 1856 they were calling Ingham County Michigan home and my information from there forward is pretty good. It is 1850 and before where I currently need your help. Based on the 1850 census I believe that Giles is quite probably the brother to Darius Briggs (1816) with John (1780) being their father. I currently have nothing to link them together but do believe that while Giles and family moved to Michigan, Darius, his wife Elizabeth, and their 5 children remained in NY. I currently have no information on Rebecca or Giles before 1850.

Ebbin Jackson Briggs represents a branch of the family that I have very little information on. He married Marsha (last name unknown b 1838 and also from NY) sometime after 1860. By 1870 they were still in Ingham county and had added Willis (b. 3/1870) to their family. Family stories but Willis in the Chicago area around 1932 but nothing else is currently known about this part of the family

Please let me know if you have any of my potential relatives in your tree or if I have any of yours in mine. I can provide my most current Gedcoms if you think we have a common relative. I look forward to coresponding with you. Happy Hunting.
