This Brimmer family settled in New York after coming across the Atlantic in a ship called "Hope" which landed in Philadelphia in 1738. We settled in the Petersburgh, New York area, the site of the "Brimmer Massacre". Some other family names directly associated with my family include the following: Aldrich, Bowles, Burke, Eldred, Harbour, Herman, Weimer, Weis, Hotchkiss, Kernan, Hitchcock and Sperry.

Two brothers from a distant branch headed west and the most famous Brimmer produced on that line was the actor Richard Dix (a/k/a Carlton Brimmer).

I try and get back to the Petersburg area at least once a year so if you need Brimmer information from that area I can try and get it for you if I don't already have it.
