Possible brother to Thomas HOWLET of VA. lived on the James River, possible son of Lawrence HULET b:England)William had One Son: John HULET acquired land appx: 1775 m:Sarah (unknown), children: John Jr, Susanna (m:Archibald HESSE) and Samuel Hulet m: Lydia (EUBANKS)1819 Orange Co, NC, their heirs: Deesey/Dicey (m:James Johnston BIRD)), Nancy (m:Freeman WALKER), Jackson (may be our line), Jesse Dixon (m:Lucy MUNCY, Nancy CHRISTOPHER), Arte (m:Alexander BROWN), Levy, "Desperado" (name I've given our ancestor)and others. Per John HULETT Jr.s will, Samuel inherited the Hawfields land where Stagg Creek and Back Creek forked on the Haw River. This land is now under water where present day Graham-Mebane Lake Dam is located. Land was located at county line between Alamance and Orange County. "Desperado" HULET m:Lucy Jane BIRD appx:1848 Orange Co, NC, children: Abi (m:James Marshall BIRD), William Henry "Hence" (m:Almeda Frances BLAN), Lydia McLena (m:Frank STUART), and Joseph R.(m:Betty TINSDALE). In Scott Co, VA 1870 Census HULET family with James Johnston BIRD's household . "Desperado" HULETT Died or disappeared appx:1869, place unknown or how. Samuel HULET d:1848, he and "Deperado" may have been in Mexican War 1846-1848, traveling into TN and AR before his death. Hulet/Hulett, Ring, Bird/Byrd and Blan families are shown in the AR census records during the 1840 until present. The BIRD/HULET family arrived spring of 1878 from Howell Co, MO and settled in the Richwoods District, Sharp Co, AR. Some stayed in Scott Co, VA: some stayed in Warren Co, TN: others stayed in MO. William Henry HULETT was a noted traveling minister who preached for several miles around Sharp Co, AR and MO. He died 1904 in Sharp Co, AR. His old Homestead still in Poughkeepsie, Sharp Co, AR.
