  • "Desperado" Hulett (8 KB)
Being a huge "Eagle" fan, I thought it appropriate to refer to our lost Hulet as "Desperado". The song and the words reflect upon him and we, his family that are searching for him, to bring him home with the rest of us. He is lost to us, not knowing who he is or what happened to him. It's a reminder to all of us....To keep the family circle together and matter how hard our journeys might be...we need to love each other and keep the family close. I thought the song fit this ancestor and my feelings about where he went and the search to try to find him, we need to bring him home, where he belongs.

Easter 1971 with George E. Jr, Cheryl Lynn Hulett Dennis & Donna Leigh Hulett Brantley before Dad's accident, taken at Possom Grape, Jackson Co, AR, at the farm owned by Larry and Nancy Hulett Bright. Daddy was an inspiration to all of us, he never let his handicap slow him down any, much to our avail at times...and unfortunatley to Hillary Clinton in the Clinton 2 Lemo, when he ran it off the interstate one night on our way home from the horse races. I can vouch for the story, being I was sitting in the car and watched the headlights as they bounced all over the place down in the ditch. Daddy, being Daddy, had no idea what he had done, when told, his response only was that they shouldn't have been in his way. I think he got this trait from his Dear Uncle Hayde, who at 90 still drove a truck like a dirt road moonshiner.
  • Ritchie Racing #5 (263 KB)
Floyd Brian Ritchie, #5 Ritchie Racing, IMCA Modified, Batesville Speedway, Locust Grove, AR, Brian's wife is Alicia and he has two daughters Mary and Richelle. Brian owns two cars the #5 IMCA Modified and #5 Stock Car, he lives in Newark, AR. You can log onto the Batesville Speedway or West Plains MO website and follow his race results. Once and awhile he races at Tunica, Malden, and Harrisburg. The #5 was temporarily not running, you'd caught sight of him in the #99 yellow Modified until the new one was built. July 3rd is always a big fireworks and race event for any of you that would like to travel to Locust Groove. For those of us who are children and grandchildren of George E. Hulett Sr., we all inherited the "driving" skills. We're talking about a man who was in a wheelchair and used a broom handle for the brake and gas pedals while taking a van to deer camp at Hardy, AR. Those of us that had the honor to have riden with him at anytime, would know that if he were alive today, he'd down in that pit, working on Brian to let him "drive" the car! Riding with him was like being in a Live Demolation Derby! Anyone who knew Brian's dad Billy Joe Ritchie Sr. knew he held the driving record for the fastest time from Denmark to Bradford....under 10 seconds. Brian has inherited genes from both these men...likes to race!!!
