I am researching BRIDGES, CHAPMAN, DOSTER, HESTER, HOOKS, MATTHEWS, SPRINGER, SUMMERFORD, WARNER, WINCHESTER and many others including my elusive GOCHIE family.The BRIDGES family migrated from North Carolina to Georgia (Bibb, Wilkinson, Twiggs area) and Dale County, Alabama before settling in Shelby County, Texas.Any additions and/or corrections are welcome. Also, I am desperately seeking information on the GOCHIE family living in Shelby County, Texas in the early 1900s. The Gochie name most likely was originally GAUTHIER. Family history states that Mr. GOCHIE came from France and landed at New Orleans, Louisianna. He married a Native American woman and had about five children, the first born in Louisiana, the second in Arkansas, and the rest in Shelby County, Texas. After the death of his first wife he married Sarah Addie PRICE MOORE.
