Eslie G. Sharpe , 90 , a native of Mingo and a resident of Broadway , Va. for the past 24 years died Sunday October 10,1976 at Bridgewater, Virginia Nursing Home. Born March 29,1886, in mingo he was the son of the late John and Liza Wamsley Sharpe.He was first Married to Alice Gay and then to Laura Chappel, Both deceased.
He was a retired farmer and member of the Mingo United Methodist Church.
Survivors include four sons, Hughe E. Sharpe, Timberville, Va. , Leslie Sharpe , Florida,
Woodrow Sharpe ,Cass, and Meade Sharpe , Bridgewater ; three brothers Roy Sharpe, Everette Sharpe , and Emmett Sharpe all of Mingo ; 25 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.The funeral was held Tuesday in the Mingo Methodist Church with the Rev. Clarence Pierson Officiating. Burial was in the Mingo Cemetery.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Alice Gay Sharpe , 81 , of Timberville , Virginia , who died Wednesday june 15 1955 , in a Woodstock , Viginia hospital were held saturday afternoon from the Mingo Methodist Church. The services which were largely attended were in charge of the Rev. Gilbert Hart.
Interment was made in Mingo Cemetery.
She was born May 11, 1874 , at Mace a daughter of the lat Hamilton and Laura Alderman Gay.
She is survived by her husband Eslie Sharpe, and five sons:Leslie of Ocala , Fla. ; Brooks of Mingo ; Woodrow of Cass ; Hughes of Timberville , Virginia ; and Meade of Rockingham, Virginia.
Also surviving are two brothers , Andy Gay and Lee Gay both of Valley Head; four
Sisters, Mrs. Lucy Marshall of Charleston ; Mrs. Mary Beverage of Keysville , Viginia ;
Mrs. Effie Mcatte , of Mingo ; Mrs. Edra Riggleman, of Valley Bend. Also there are 24 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Mingo Methodist Church , and had spent most of her life at Mingo.She had been bedfast since March 1954.
