About AlabamaGenWeb
Migrations of our ancestors into Alabama with many connections to the capitol
city of Montgomery. Farmers, plantation owners, slave owners, railroad workers
and those employing indians to work their land, often intermarried with the
native americans, some became famous in our history, some died in the wars, and
some were story tellers sharing the family legends from the heart. Both of my
parents had Cherokee blood, more than most of the indian chiefs that you read
about, but their families never registered on any roll. When my ancestors were
found in South Carolina 1790 or 1800 census, they lived beside or near many
names which became famous in our Native American history, like Starr, Gist,
McIntosh, Will Rogers, Hildebrand, Weatherford.
