Father of Thomas was John Wise Carter who's parents were Captain John Carter of Virginia  and Elizabeth Wise of Edgefield South Carolina - Captain John served in the American Revolution, along with his father in law.
 
Thomas bought land in Hope Hull, Montgomery County, Alabama - a small piece of the Bozeman Plantation, thru the estate of William Henry Bozeman.
