My Family

I am researching the Ballard, Sims, Ivie, Young, Roberts, Mires, Barton, Steinc, Hulsey and Powers families from ARK. and MO. James Mayfield Ballard was born in 1849 and came from Alabama. He may have been an herb doctor. His father George W. Ballard left for the civil war when he was about 12 and never returned. George was from Alabama and married Nancy (some say Hopper and some say Whitehead). James Mayfield Ballard was married first to Susan Francis Sims and then to Lorinda Lee Young Ivie. His siblings are; Elizabeth, Jimima, Caleb, Thomas, George W. They were all born in Alabama. There is a Cherokee connection in this family. Lorrinda Young was first married to John Bunyon Ivie. Some of the Mires and Young family migrated to Texas.

The Miller, Fogel, Cook are from WI , MN and Germany. The Miller family came to the USA in the 1850,s from Germany and most are located in Houston, Co., MN. They were from Dunningen, Germany near Rottweil Germany. The Fogel and Cook families are in MN and the LaCrosse area of WI.
