Mary Brown executrix of Estate. Barbara Brown's signature: "X". Conrad Brown owned Lot 2 of Sub. of the state of David Dewar in E1/2, SW1/4, Sec.35, Twp.34, Range 7E, 10.39 acres. Also 7 acres North of the I&M Canal in E1/2, NW1/4, Sec.2, Twp.33, Range 7 East. Homestead value $1500. Two Horses $131. Farming tools and sundry $220. Five Liberty Bonds @ $100 each. Widow given life use of estate. Burial from Davis Funeral Home.

His will was dated 3-13-1920, one week before death at 73 years. His oath for naturalization was dated 6-17-1876 "renouncing forever all allegiance, etc. to the Emperor of Germany." Final papers dated 10-21-1878, Grundy County.

Disappeared from home 9-9-1923. Unmarried. No word was ever heard from her. There were rumors that she was murdered and buried in the basement of a house at Ashley and Rod and Gun Club Road, Morris. Another rumor was that she ran away to be married to a fellow that her parents did not approve of.
