1. WILLIAM¹ JORDAN¹ was born March 24, 1826 in Kent, England¹, and died January 26, 1899 in Lyons, New York¹. He married MARY JANE JONES¹ January 26, 1852 ². She was born July 18, 1833 ³, and died January 14, 1914³.

From William's Obituary (1899) in the Jordan Family Bible, with pictures:
He came to America at the age of 21. He went into partnership with his voyage companion, William Gardner, with one of the earliest meat markets in Lyons, NY. He then took up farming, buying the Smith farm located Northwest of Lyons. He purchased this 5 years before his death. He died of pneumonia, leaving a widow and 12 children; William T, Mrs Emma Kane, James T, R.S. and Lewis of Galen, NY. Mrs Sarah Wykle and J S Jordan of Lyons, Mrs Mary Finch of Rose, Ida H & E.D, Rose and Belle Jordan of Arcadia. He belonged to the Episcopal Church.

Jordan bible says he was 72 yrs, 10 mo and 2 dys old when he died which would make his birthdate 3-24-1826

"At Newark, Wayne Co., on the 26th inst., by the Rector of Grace Church, Lyons, Mr. William Jordan to Miss Mary J. Jones.:
