| Thomas Brooks b. abt 1730 is the oldest link in our Brooks line that can be proven in Virginia , Prince Edward Co. His grandsons Bartholemew and David Brooks migrated to Tenn abt 1800 to 1810. Through the next 280 years the Brooks spread out throughout most of the United States, and ranks somewhere in the 30's as the most populas name in the country. The particular branch that I am tracing migrated from the tidewater area of Virginia to middle Virginia to Claiborne Co Tenn and finally to Michigan. I have spent 12 years going to libraries, archives, cemeterys, and knocking door to door to chase these elusive Brooks'. Also I have much information on allied families such as Whitakers, Harrels, Parkers, Winters, Smith, Rowlett, Hurst, and Ford. Anyone interested in these names can feel free to e mail me. |
