Notes for Henry Horace Brown: Henry Horace was a carpenter by trade. He was born in the family home just northeast of the Bethel Evangelical church. After marrying Emma Bixler they lived in the old log cabin along Route 10 just south of Green Hills. This log cabin is still inhabited today and is supposed to be one of the oldest homes in Robeson Twp. They later moved to 360 North Front street in Reading. Emma passed away here on June 10, 1922 at the age of 58. He later moved in with his son Lester in Laureldale. He passed away here on November 21, 1946 at the age of 90. Services were from the Miller Funeral Home at 46 North 4th Street in Reading. There was a viewing on Sunday evening from 7 to 9 and the services were on Monday at 2:00 P.M. He and Emma and Hatti Mae Bertolet Brown are buried in the Allunbach cemetery in Reading. In the same lot, Kate, William E. and James S. are also buried without markers. Kate was Henry's sister Catharine, died 9/14/1927, 84 years old, William E. was Henry's oldest son, died 10/21/1929, 49 years old and James S. died on 4/15/1912 and was 2 years 10 months and 11 days old,unknown relative. Directions to the grave site are. Enter Cemetery just off the East end of the Lindburg viaduct. Turn right on the first road to the right. This goes downhill and back toward Reading. As you pass the first stones on your right look to the left for a very high stone about 9 rows from the road. The grave site is about 10 feet past this stone and slightly up hill.---FAMILY BIBLE--- On Oct. 28, 2001 a note was found on the internet seeking the descendants of Henry and Emma. Answering the inquiry to Kay Noska in El-Campo Texas it was learned that she was in possetion of the Family Bible of Henry and Emma. She had been searching for the family since that time. Arrangment were made to have the Bible returned for the price of $60.00 the same price she had paid for it. The Bible was recieved on Saturday November 10, at 1:55 PM. The Bible was in poor condition and was restored by the Conestoge Valley bookbindery on Musser School Road in Leola for $127.20 on December 20, 2001. The bible is now in the possetion of Gerald N. Brown in Honey Brook, Pa.
