Notes for Harry Denton Brown, Jr: Harry participated in sports in school and played basketball at Reading High. He was in the service during world war two when he served in Guam and later in the Korean war. He worked for a time at his uncles candy factory in Laurel dale. He later worked at foundries in and around Reading. After retirement he spent his last years living with his wife June in a trailer park in Bowmensville, Pa. He suffered with cancer the last six years of his life. After a setback late in the day on October 2 he was rushed to St. Josephs Hospital in Reading and passed away about 6:30 on October 3rd, 1999. About 25 close relatives including his wife, brothers, sister, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and neices and nephews were by his bedside at times during his last hours. Friends and family were invited to a viewing on Thursday, October 7th from 7 to 8:30 at the Henninger Funeral home on North Fifth Street in Reading. Services were held on Friday October 8th at 11:00 AM and internment was at the National Cemetery at Indiantown Gap immediatly following the service.
