Oct 11, 2009: Email me if you have questions. I'm in the process of entering all this onto ancestry.com (Brown and Scribner family tree - rpcvbg), but it's a very manual process and it takes a while. Hopefully this will hold you in the meantime. Thanks and take care - Heather

As direct descentents of Joel Scribner, one of the founders of New Albany, IN (along with his brothers Abner and Nathaniel), we had much of our family traced by the Piankeshaw Chapter of the DAR. Because much of the information was placed in a big box and held unopened at my grandmother's house for a bunch of years, my mom and I are now attempting to both centralize the information we have, organize it and make electronic copies of any documents available so we can be sure to preserve it all.
I'm finding a handful of other Scribner family sites. I'm happy to share information with any of you as we might as well all paint a complete picture. As I'm new to Family Tree Maker, some of my sources are located in notes, rather than properly entered as "sources", so I need to move some of that around to make it available.
Some of the research I've already done - mostly by internet so far - has linked us back to people like Daniel Kellogg (pilgrim), Governor Henry Bull of the colony of Rhode Island in the late 1600s and to the Edward Fuller family - Edward Fuller being one of the passengers on the Mayflower.
Eventually, we'd like to get back across the ocean. We supposedly come from England and Scotland (probably why I take my tea with milk and sugar), so we'd like to learn more about our relatives and ancestors over there. Henry Bull, mentioned above, was born in Wales or Southern England. That's a start!!
Thanks to all who peruse this site and especially to anyone would like to contribute. I look forward to hearing from you.
Take care - Heather
