E-mail from Marie (Kohut) Wolf, dated 8 Feb 2008.Marie was always told that Grandma Frances, her Dad, John, Vlasta and Emilie ate store bought sauerkraut in a can.Back then the can had a hole in it so when the Sauerkraut was fermenting it could let the juices come out.After fermenting it as sealed with lead.When Grnadma open the can Vlasta and Emilie ate some first then Grandma and John ate some.Grnadma cooked the rest to serve for a meal.Grandpa never got sick but Grandma, Vlasta, Emilie and John when on a train from Milano, Texas to old Scott & White in Temple, Texas.They stayed in the hosptial several days.Vlasta died at the hospital, Emilie died at home in Milano the next day at 9:00 a.m., but Grandma and John recuperated after being very ill.
